Recore the original - cheap.

Radtec or other specialist with a more modern design of core: http://www.radtec.co.uk/

I sent them my old rad, they built an ali one with thicker core as well as a custom shroud around a megga Spahl fan that I supplied.

If I'd known more about these cars at the time I would of had the thermo switch relocated but other than that my cooling system is transformed. Fitted a new water pump at the same time.

Radtec do some nice alloy aftermarket rads. Will improve cooling but likely to cost around 3-400 quid? But they will make one to fit anything.

I was thinking about an alloy rad until someone asked how do you repair it? I don't know.

Went for a recore at around 200 odd notes with a better efficiency core. The old core cooling fins were brushing off and falling apart anyway. Then dealt with the air flow around the rad.
