356 Chesil kit. Sell or keep?
Discussion
Do I sell or do I wait.
My Chesil 356 Outlaw project needs to go on hold due to my daughter getting married. I purchased the kit, delivered it to the builder, the spec was confirmed and deposit paid. Attached a pic of what I was looking to get built.
Just can’t give it focus with the wedding and if I sink cash into the project the wedding will be followed by my wife divorcing me. Does however keep the government divorce marriage stats balanced………one positive.
So the question is do I keep the kit in storage and start the build next year or sell and start again. I need the garage space and having a kit sitting around collecting dust is not going to work.
What’s the view on the price of a new Chesil Speedster kit? Purchase price £7k. What would I expect to get for it?

I guess you put a lot of thought into it before buying the kit and yes a wedding is a special day but sell your dream, no chance....
You can have a nice wedding without spending thousands and thousands on relatives you only see once a year pissing your money up the wall.
Enjoy the wedding, enjoy the car, you only live once

If you can afford to keep the car I would. These cars do have a cachet value properly finished and registered. They are one of the few kit cars that can reach £20K plus genuinely and easily. A part finished kit is always a difficult sale. I would have thought maybe £6000 IF you can find a buyer.
I have finished a number of part built kit cars over the years and these are not easy sales. Very often picked them up on the bay because I was an under bidder who actually was prepared to collect and pay for the kit. So, if you can, keep the car. If you cannot, then good luck with the sale.
