I think I have one, in my collection of bits. I will add it to the parts to look for over the next week (Weather permitting)

The one on f-bay is the price from a scrap yard (Which the adverts from)

Let me know if you want me to have a look!

There are 3 basic motors 14W 16W and 27W. The Wedge is the 16W and is shared with TR7s Stags and Scimitars It is seemingly impossible to get an overhauled one with the park switch in the correct position. I got an exchange one from Moss (£88) in 2005 but retained the Wedge gearwheel as it’s 170 degrees TR7 is about 130. The casing has blanks in the right location so I may be able to relocate the park switch.

I have looked at the Moss site and they still seem to sell them.

I had to find a proper auto-electrician 2 weeks ago and did find some real ones in a big dark shed with piles of on-going repairs spread about. Someone like that would be your cheapest and best bet. Wish I had discovered them 7 years ago.

If you do send it off for exchange for a reconditioned one keep the wheel and the park switch.

it must be a loose wire or bushes, as it really did work once i'd beaten it with hammer, just for a few wipes. after switching off then on again it failed.
i'll take it apart next weekend, hopefully something obvious will jump out at me!
Andy, i might take you up on that offer if i cant repair it, at least for mot purposes.

took today off and tried to fix the wipers. no joy. took the motor out, stripped it, looked ok, re greased and wired it up. hey presto. it worked!
put it back into position, switched it on and nothing. took it out again and it refused again.
must be the wiring from stalk to motor i think. have just finished rewiring the front of the car so i might as well do the inside now.
dashboard off, fix wipers, put in a heater, put in a radio and cig lighter, all before the mot on march 6. only working on it at the weekends.
what do you think guys...any tips.?

Could be the column stalks, the Rover ones in mine were tempramental; or the Pektron timing unit for the wash/wipe/intermittent can play up and cause weird symptoms. Wedgie's wedgeneering site has some details on it.

Afternoon guys, getting right annoyed with the Wiper motor. Bought the one above for £80 inc postage, it didn't work. Opened it up and found it had seized due to rust, the brushes were shot as well.
The original one occasionally works, it all looks fine to me inside, the water scoosher doesn't work either if that is anything to do with it, all the fuses etc are fine, current flows ok, anyone any ideas?
Or know where i can get a working one by 8 March when the MOT is due?

Cheers guys

yikes Eighty quid!? You could carve one from solid Unobtanium whilst sat on a Middlesbrough virgin's lap with a diamond-encrusted Faberge letter-opener for that.
