Basically im looking for a car under 10k to have a bit fun with, 200bhpish and it has to have a half decent boot.

To give you an idea of the cars ive been looking at ive seen the following:

Honda Integra DC5
Honda Civic FN2 Type R
Astra VXR
Golf GTi

But the only car I like out of them are the Integra. But due to being 20, and Insurance I cant get one! frown

I like cars that are a little different, and preferably under 10 years old

Drivechain doesnt matter, I just want to have some fun!

Thanks for your help!

You mean you want a boyracer car biggrin?

You could find saloons with like 300bhp or more and insure for less than those.

Civic tyyre r - £3500 insurance
Bmw 7 series v12 - £3000 insurance

Both of those are while 18 in my name.

If insurance is too much then reduce the amount you'll spend on the car so you have more on insurance. Or just buy a cheaper more sensible car and build some NCB.

Consider a seat ibiza FR or any of the warm hatchbacks (clio GT, focus/fiesta zetec S, swift sport).

Not sure about the first one but I know I went with the second one due to insurance on Type-r's being silly.
It's plenty fun and the boot, with seats down swallows almost anything I used mine partially to move house and it makes a decent van when needed (being white it's pretty close too).

ST engine though mmmmmmm

They're like chalk and cheese - very different.

The ST is more of a cruiser, a bit wallowy and feels like a big car. Easily modified (if that's your thing) with just a diy remap. 40 BHP gain instantly. Engine is strong with a nice warble.

The Clio is better handling, feels much, much smaller and although not as quick in a straight line it will muller an ST on the twisty bits.

FN2 CTR isn't my cup of tea (had one for 6 months and didn't like it). Rock hard suspension with absolutely no compliance. Rear visibility is rubbish and again, it feels big. Decent engine and induction noise though and a decent 'box. Oh, and good seats. It is not a Type R though in my book and doesn't deserve the badge.

Could buy a very tidy UK DC2 for about half your budget and insurance wouldn't be anywhere near as bad as the DC5.
