Hi,

I am on the verge of buying an S-max, I have been researching which one to buy and noticed that you can upgrade the stock 2.0 Ecoboost (petrol) from 200bhp/300NM to 240bhp/360-ishNM via superchips for about 370 quid, and that's pretty much all I can find. Mountune seem to only offer upgrades for the 1.6 EcoB

Ford offer the 2.0 Ecoboost with 240PS from the factory in the form of the X sport, but the X-sport carries a large premium and a host of other little tweaks as a package. Noticed it can be upgraded from 236bhp/360NM to 259bhp/404NM

Can higher levels of power & torque be generated from the petrol 2.0 Ecoboost- I've been looking on a few ford focus forums for the same engine but can't find any tuning options beyond a re-map.

Any help would be appreciated!

I plan to rip the interior stock seating out & stick 6 sports seats in instead, lower on KW variant one's, pull the arches & put some wider wheels in, and general mischief along those lines...

Thanks
H

this site is great a bit of a pig and also a bit slow, bit i managed to find some s-max parts ford you and ill leave you the link,
they do a load of general mod parts, my advise would also to be to phone and double chack what your ordering before placing an order, as the parts occasionaly get ordered in from germany itll save you the postage if you accidently order the wrong thing

My wife has the 240hp version of the 2.0 Ecoboost in her S-Max. We've had it a year now and we've both become used to the standard performance so we've been looking at remapping options (well, I have smile ).
So far I've found the Superchips option and a couple of German tuning companies like this one

Apart from that there doesn't seem to be much on the go at the moment for the 2.0 Ecoboost engine. That should change though now that the Focus ST is out.

I've only been looking a short while and haven't come across any reviews yet. I was aiming for at least a 40bhp increase and the basic tuning box seems to fit the bill but I'll have to do a bit of digging around first.

I found some tuning upgrades for the 3.5L Ecoboost found in Ford F150's etc here...

http://www.full-race.com/articles/inside-the-ecobo...

I also remember reading that 150bhp was being extracted from the 1.0L EB, by using the turbo from the 2.0L EB, not confirmed, but is it possible to take the turbo(s?) from the larger 3.5L and retro fit to the 2.0L one.

Would anyone know what the difference might be between the 2 turbos? I expect the 3.5L one would flow more air assuming its physically larger?

Also found this....

The SR3 SL is a full EC Type Approved, road legal track-day car that uses the Ford Ecoboost 2 litre engine, tuned to 300hp for road use in the UK and Europe. The SL is Radical's most advanced model to date with a six-speed paddleshift transmission and bespoke cockpit included tailor seats, electric mirrors, a heater and courtesy lighting.

Looking...

Cheers
H
