Vivaro starts and then cuts out randomly
Discussion
Got a '54 plate Vivaro 1.9 diesel van which starts and idles for a few minutes before stalling. It may or may not restart immediatley after that.
Found various issues while trying to sort it out such as chaffed ECU wiring shorting against ECU mounting plate in engine bay. Also found that disturbing wires for the roll over kill switch causes pump regulator to die and therefore the engine dies so bypassed that for now.
After the last fix thought I had it sorted as it ran for a few miles before leaving it to idle ... came back after a test drive and left it to idle ... it shortly stalled again
The van will restart if I use the prime grenade in the engine bay but then dies when the pressure from the manual prime is used up. Leave it overnight it will more than likely restart without manual priming and stall after a few minutes.
There is no lift pump in the tank or along the fuel line (Tank out on one of these is a very easy job thankfully).
No leaks from what I can see.
I have plugged my ELM327 Scantool in to the ODBII connector but I get no info from the ECU, not even engine revs or temps which I normally get at least on a non compliant car.
All other wiring and connectors appear ok.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
