Could you please tell me how ---- left the factory in 1972.

It's just that the body is off now and noticed it may have originally been orange.

Many thanks. smile

Sorry, that's supposed to read 'build'

Edited to remove the number.

I wasn't aware that there were multiple sources of build records. I was only aware that David Geralds holds the originals. They offered to supply a copy of my cars build sheet without me asking.

Mine states the colour, what options the car came with, the engine number, the original owner and which sales operation the car was sold through. there is another number, but I don't know what it is because the hole punch went through the heading! I think its the paint code (maybe?).

You will need to contact DG directly. Doug will have the factory build card for your TVR.

I believe that DG have copies, the TVRCC have (or at least did have) the originals from the factory.

Richard Sails should be the one to contact initially.

Not so sure of that, Colin. Someone would have done a lot of work. The cards are not all uniform in the writing, etc. I believe it was part of the deal with the factory at the time they were appointed official supplies of spares.
Adios!

The TVRCC do have build records. As I understand it someone did do a lot of work and scanned them all with the permission of Peter Wheeler.

Hi David,
I did mean to sound like the club did not have information. I was simply saying that the records that DG has are not scans, but hand written and were acquired long before Mr. Wheeler came to TVR.
Regards,
D.

Well, I'm sure, as it was me who rescued them from the factory when they were having a clear-out in the 1990s and my intervention prevented them from receiving the ' Arthur Brown' treatment. I then gave them to Mervyn, who was club model registrar at the time.

There was lots of other stuff as well (8 boxes of Speed Eight brochures, for example) but I never had room for much else in the car.

Marigold, repainted Red.

Its not that simple, the club has a pretty good database of all the cars up to and including the wedges, we have some paper records as do David Geralds.

We use the information to help both club members and non-club members with things like DVLA registration problems and individual questions about their own cars etc. We try to discourage the production of 'air' cars, duplicate cars etc and so do not publish the complete information in the form of lists as in the long term that would harm our ability to help with DVLA and other similar problems.

Cheers

Richard

Richard, without wishing to be a burden, would you possibly be able to tell me the original colour/paint code for my 2500M, Chassis No. 2449TM?
Thanks in advance!

Good to see the factory records continued through the 90's in the same vein.
