Ok, whilst trying very hard not to think about the damage someone has done to my new Cerbera, which I haven't even driven steadily let alone in anger yet.
What made you first want a TVR.
For me it was being 12 years old and the sight and sound of an electric blue 400 se wedge with the surfboard spoiler on the boot lid that once burbled to and parked up outside HB Bearings in Honley.

While i was attending blackpool college during my apprentiship, and while tvr were still open they brought a few tvrs to the new rolling road they had installed at the college. A t350 and a sagaris i think. Hearing them both do a run had me hooked! I just remeber looking at the sag with my jaw open most of the time. Ok maybe i dont have a sag or t350 (mainly due to prices, but lets not get into that) but the tuscan has deffinately scratched that itch.
Ive always liked Porsches but when I was luckily enough to be given the nod to get a toy the Boxster seemed too boring for a fun/weekend car. I wanted something special.
So, I started looking at Chimaeras and TBH it was the noise
that did it for me. I drove one at Fernhurst (now owned by Chris1972) and just knew it was the car for me. I nearly viewed a Z3M Roadster but I looked at 6 Chims in a week and had done a deal by the end of that week on mine.
It was Ian (TVRMAN) who really showed me what they are about and to me thats fun. The way it can put a smile on your face just by starting it up alone is priceless.

Always loved the wedges as a kid, the the Griff. The interior of the Cerbera finally did it for me. I had to have one! Then a few years later the T350 appeared, a few more years later I had some spare cash!
Still have an itch for a Cerbera, and a 1 year old so the rear seats would be good. Just can't bear to get rid of the T350. Nice problem to have though!

Performance per £
Bought my first TVR in 1979, a Tamair, after a Lotus Elan SE 2+2. So much more reliable - yes really! I also like Lotuses and had, I think, 11 of them in total, but since the demise of the Esprit, they haven't done it for me. On the other hand, TVR's just got better and better.

6th birthday present was a certain Clarkson video, Unleashed On Cars. I still vividly remember seeing the Cerbera on that runway for the first time, my introduction to TVR. No other manufacturer will ever get under the skin like TVR; we lost something unique and extremely special with their demise.

Same here robsco,the excitement in Clarksons voice when he called it the Blackpool Rocket.I went for my Chim ,for the open air element Although one day I would love a Cerb as well ! As a seventeen year old, at college on the east coast in Bridlington, I was walking along the High street when something coming along the main street caused such a massive, thunderous and frightening noise, that i jumped and instantly forgot to continue with my cool swagger !. This was caused by the owner of a White TVR SEAC 450 flooring it from a rolling start. The noise alone in the 80's, when i longed for an Escort RS turbo mk 1 was enough to change my mind ! Griffith and Tuscan ownership has scratched the itch.

A V8 in anything else seems smooth, and classy, in a TVR its Raw !

Saw/ Heard a Cerbera burbling round town, decided I had to have one, so much more. . . . Individual than the MGB , I had, sadly cannot afford yet, but building up to it.

First rung of the ownership ladder with an S2 V6, but the lust is still there, just behind the huge smile.!

Many years ago driving my Triumph Spitfire on the inside lane of a dual carriageway at around the legal limit when a black wedge pulled up alongside me. We both had our roofs down and as I looked across at this amazing looking car the driver gave me a thumbs up and took off into the distance at warp speed. The sight, sound and friendliness did it for me. Eventually I bought an S3 and later a Chimaera and a Wedge. Like most on here I have found that these cars work their way into your hearts and you'll then never be truly happy with anything else.

Dave Karaskas (relative) racing an Austin Healey Sprite, introduced me to the TVR Team Burgess RED 3000M's. The sound, oh the sound, in comparisson to all of the others including Chris Meeks Lotus Europa. 5 years later I was driving a late 1978 3000M, my first, I was smitten. With breaks in between for family & business I'm still there. Looking forward like a daft schoolboy to our first run out of 2013 .... THE COB WEB RUN .... only 6 weeeks to go !
