+1 if that refers to the professional loudspeaker option.

This confused me at the dealers. They said the option I have is the one below the Harmon Kardon option. Is the BMW one a crap system? If so then I assume the base version is very poor indeed?

You seem to have accidentally selected a flappy paddle gearbox ;-)

Don't say that. After a long test drive I was still unsure. But wanted the CSL wheels so made sense to get the Comp Pack with the DCT. I admit it was fun tapping down the gears going into corners ...but how long that last remains to be seen!

Is there an option to collect from BMW's distribution centre at Thorne? I see you're based in West Yorkshire so would be an easy run if BMW offer an option to collect and avoid the delivery charge. Seem to remember EVO doing that with a long-term 645ci a few years ago but not sure if the option is still available!

Yes business is the more basic setup. Professional is one down from HK

Obviously it's down to personal preference but after having an auto in my 335i (with paddles) I was keen to get back in a manual car even though that gearbox was very responsive - not far off a DCT IMHO.

For me it was definitely the right choice. I'm enjoying driving my M3 with the extra interactivity of gear lever and clutch.

I'd go for 6NR - Mobile application preparation IF you have an iPhone.

what does the app prep actually give you? The BMW website is pretty vague.
i've not specced it as thought the extended bluetooth / media pack means you can stream music. But not sure what else i'd use.

Business is crap.
I think its an embarrassment when you spend all that money on a car and comes out with that system.

I have the upgraded sound system but never really listen to it. The noise of the exhaust (Evolve x-pipe) and induction (BMC filter) is just so good to hear, it's the only music I need.

You can use an iPhone app which gives more iTunes functionality, streams web radio, more calendar functionality and twitter and facebook feeds to the idrive. There's also a find my car type thing and an analyser to see how economically you drive (in an M3, yeah right!).

It's not the most amazing thing but it just integrates the iPhone more completely. It wouldn't bother me if I didn't have it but it is a nice to have and for the sake of a few quid on the price of a new M I'd go for it.

The dealer should be able to give you a demo.

300+ miles on an almost full tank! That's about the same as my 1997 E36 323i, if I take it easy and keep out of London. 250 miles is my usual.

I thought that the V8 M3s were bad on fuel biggrin

Order is signed off now.
As my original spec plus the Carbon Leather and the Harmon Kardon.

30month lease, 15k a year for £660/month inc vat.
Not a bad price from a main dealer. I'm really hoping the M3 will keep me entertained like my 350Z did. That was a nice V6.
