Not Spiders, but what?
Discussion
I have the standard 17" wheels on the Cerb, but want to change them for 18" in the not too distant when I need new tyres.
Spiders are okay, but they're on EVERYTHING! I fancy some Kahn RS-R's but what alternatives do my fellow discerning Cerb owners think are as good looking/better?
Any photos/photoshopped pics would be great too.
FWIW my car's Paris Blue.

These 18s are currently be advertised on a 2001 LW... Dunno if they are factory spec or not?
I posted a fair few suggestions on a thread the other day: www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=122044&f=6&h=0&hw=superleggera
Lazy-reader summary:
Oz Superturismo (GT)
Oz superleggera
TSW Pace
Toora T230
Toora T910
Fox 3 Evo
Kosei Sniper
Think all of those can be got in 18s that'll fit a Cerb. Seem to remember some nice WolfRace ones that were only available in 17s at the time, but were potentially going to 18s in the future.
My vote'd go with the Superturismo GTs, if it was me shelling out. Make sure you get the tyres right, tho - too low profile & it won't be particularly fun/comfy on normal roads.

Thanks chaps, Tripps that's what I have on there now mate!
JSG, thanks for that, but apart from the bottom one they all look too 'busy' for my liking.
Check out www.performancealloys.com, then... they have pretty much ever mainstream manufacturer on there.
Having seen lots of those types on Astons, I'd be really tempted to go for it (but that's just me):
Think you'd need to see them on the Cerb to really know. Might Photoshop something up tonight if I get a chance.
The wheels aston use, are specifically made for astons I believe....
I know one company that they have used in the past to custom make some wheels for them - its a british company too!
For custom fabrication you're looking at 4k for cast, and upto 6k for forged - and around 10k for superalloy.... (you dont know what light is until you hold one of these on your little finger!)
Personally, I remember when I was looking into wheels, and I tried to get everyones opinions, and I realised that everyone has a different taste - so I went along with my taste - so all I can say is - go with what you like - but try and stay away from toora/kahns and superleggeras - mainly because you'll pull up to a roundabout - and a spotty faced kid in a bimma or ricer will have the same wheels as you (not a good feeling!)... the rarer the better.... IMO...

Agreed. Trouble is, I like the style of the RS-R. Do you know of anything similar that's not going to require me to mortgage the house but is not mainstream?
The Kahns looked good on Corin's Chim, and if they're Kahns, look good on that Cannonball car. I'm just undecided.....except that I definitely don't want Spiders.

Hmmmm, problem is, the rarer you go - the higher the cost - unless its a design that doesnt suit most boxy cars but drops nicely on the curves of a 92+ tiv...
There are some georgous wheels from Japan...
But they work out to £350 per wheel - and then the shipping taxes on top...
I reckon - if you want independance and exclusivity - go american/japanese import - but expect to pay at least in the region of £2500 for wheels exc. rubbers...
Hence why spiders is a great buy for most - doesnt break the bank and you wont see them on other rides (a handful of other cars exist which have spiders mated to their hubs)...
Or if you really want to blast it - those ones on the new Typhon - very very light and in 19" form too... but they're like £3500+....
I think Campbell's cerb has them on, if I remember correctly.
How about, get a set of Khan RSR's and get them sprayed gun-metal black or something? that way you got the look you want - and you got a race-car prepped look... I wanted to go black... I may well do in the near future.... but I am a bit of a sucker for 'bling'....

SXS Nooooooooooo! I absolutely HATE black wheels on a car (except maybe anthracite spiders on a black Tuscan
)
I think it's gonna have to be the bling bling Kahns. I really can't justify £2.5k plus for rims plus rubber!
Mind you the Kahns are looking to be about £250 a corner plus rubber
Will I need a Burberry baseball cap?

Avoiding the "fussy" (if simple) wheels I like...
Fox 2 Evo? £149 a corner, but looks like the Kahns?![]()
(That pic's of the "crystal" finish - really bright/shiny... imagine they'll do a standard silver finish)
I had the previous version of those on the NSX (with centre caps) I got a lot of compliments from other NSX owners, but i'm not sure they would suit a Cerbera. Very "straight edged" which suited the NSX.

nice rear end ,better than std waste of space& fiber glass boot tosh, suprised they dont do a 4 door mind u they could of welded 2 v8s together coz the fronts wasted space ,extra weight or maybe thats for the suit case and the rear is to carry the spairs!
cant we loose those baby seats and shorten the wheel base,to make them spin round quicker ,&less chance of hitting any thing when doing <360s

I thought they looked like the standard ones, but the advert states they are 18" - hence my confusion.
