Fun cars for tall people.
Discussion
So, the daily hack has gone, as I now have a 5 min drive to the station and the wife has a nice shopping cart.
As such, I am now thinking its time to get myself something a bit fun and under 3k to tide me over until i get a new motor in the Autumn.
I fancy something nippy, fun, and maybe without a roof? Budget could be stretched for the right motor like a 350z or something.
Anyways, I am 6ft5, and all legs (don't get excited!) - anyone recommend something that can suitably take me? Quite fancy nipping back to a GTV or something coupe-ish with a decent engine.
Default choice is a fast saab, but I would like something more involving to drive for the weekend blat.

Forget about a 350Z and/or a S2000. When I tried (same height as you) I could not even lower myself in the seats. YMMV of course, but they did not work for me.
Well, I'm 6foot4 and have been driving round in S2000s (and Westfield) for nigh on 10 years.Granted, it's a squeeze but not too bad. Depends on your build, my legs are in proportion to my body I think so not long/short legged
Did have to play around with the seat (not all the way back, one click in so can be reclined a bit etc.)I'm same height with long legs. You don't give a budget but based on the 350Z example...
An Evo or a Scooby will fit you.
A shell seated westfield will too just, and if you raise the steering column - as I had done - will actually be rather roomy.
An Elise / Exige might just fit you with a QR boss. I can drive one but my hands catch my knees catch when turning the wheel.
M3 should fit.
Mustang will fit
Most fast VAG group cars.
Avoid S2000, MX5, MR2 and Corvette.

I would imagine that anything convertible would do the job?
If only, but taller folk have long legs too

As an ex-TVR driver though you'll know that they're pretty decent, thanks to Peter Wheeler having been a bit on the lofty side himself
Of all the mainstream 2-seater roadsters, the only one I've ever found OK (6ft8) was the SLK (eg AMG 55*
). Boxsters, Z4s, etc. are a waste of time911 Convertible will be OK too, or an M3*
'* Get that budget stretched!

I'm 6'5" with long legs
I was actually just about alright in a 350Z Coupe, don't know about the 'vert
Evos and Scoobies are fine
BMW 3-Series are more than fine
I can drive Elises/Exiges without too much trouble, but not my first choice for comfort (as said beter with QR wheel), plus might be out of budget
Caterham with a lowered floor and an expanding foam bag seat is fine, might sneak into an old crossflow jobbie for that much wedge
S2000 not a chance
MX5 not really unless you're happy playing noddy
Boxster just about
TVR's, I've only driven a Griff and while I could fit it wasn't exactly ideal

I just came on here to post the opposite to this.I'm 6'6 and had a 350z and it was great, comfy, and reliable.
Can't go wrong!
