Do you keep a torch in your car?
Discussion
Aside from cars I'm a bit of a gadget freak and love high powered torches and flashlights.
Does anyone else keep a quality torch in the car just in case you might need it?
Today in my car I've got compact Klarus NT20. 16650 Li-ion powered, 280 lumens, 4 brightness modes and beacon mode should I need it.

Cheap Tesco LED torch for emergencies tucked in the door cavity, I should really get another one that you can hang up to provide light to an area like the engine bay. There's a cheap multi-tool in there too.
Couple of emergency ponchos and space blankets in the glove compartment. Hi-Vis vest, Tow rope, jumper leads, small air compressor, 1.5L of water and 1L of oil stowed in the boot.
There's no excuse not to be prepared for unforeseen situations.

An additional question should be when did you last test your torch.
I have had torches which have failed due to the battery leaking which is a bit of a piss take when you think you are being organised.
Yep, nothing worse than thinking that this is the day that your emergency preparations are vindicated only to find that you have flat batteries and triumph turns to tragedy. I have had torches which have failed due to the battery leaking which is a bit of a piss take when you think you are being organised.

Choice of batteries can mitigate leakages and lost charge - Lithium AAs or AAAs are a lot more reliable than alkaline if left in something long-term, as would be typical for emergency use.
