No not being a highwayman but raising the car! My apologies as I'm sure I've read about this before but, as always, the search is down. I did check the FAQs!
I need to have my V8VR MOTd on Friday and will use a local specialist MOT bay that has done my cars for years (due to being abroad last week I realised I had run up against the stops to get it done before the MOT expires). I believe they will need to jack the car so I want to be sure it is done properly - I recall warnings along with advice when this was last discussed. Can anybody provide the details of the best way so that I can ensure the guys in the MOT bay don't damage the car. They assure me they have done Astons before but it would be good to give them the proper method. Before I get told to RTFM, I always think that first hand advice is worth a hundred readings of the manual! Of course, I will do so if nobody can help.

The guy at my MOT garage.... Went onto his computer to ID the jacking points... He showed me a diagram that shows the jacking points...
He then went and cut up an old tyre so that he could place strips of rubber between the beam jack and the jack points..... I was pleased with the extra care he took....
He said the computer has the jacking points marked for all cars.... As there are so many, and they vary so much from car to car...
The last thing he wants is to cause damage, but its also a safety issue, that the MOTer knows where is safe to jack...
