Spa Classic

Hi Guys,

Considering the Spa classic this year and was wondering if anyone has been before and is able to give any advice as to whether general entry tickets are enough and any places that are good or bad for camping?

I've not been to spa before so don't know if there are specific places to go visit other than tracking down parts of the older circuits.

Ive not been to the classic but would imagine that the usual formula 1 style fencing wont be a problem so you'll be able top get fairly close up and personal with the machinery.

The track itself is simply phenominal - you will love it.

As far as camping goes, most of the ones that you'll find in the nearby villages etc will do ya fine - its pretty friendly down there!

general entry will be fine, I'v never been as a punter but you can get all round the circuit as general entry and a "long" walk round is the best way to get a feel for and experience the place.

you can get right into the paddocks so you can get close to some amazing stuff.

camping no idea we're always in the paddock but plenty around

I went last year, generally entry is fine, quite a lot going on in the paddock.

Last year weather was good so we just walked round the circuit, there's some quiet places out towards the back of the circuit with good views over looking pouhon.

We only went for the day as we were staying at the 'ring, but it felt like there would have been plenty there to keep you entertained for a whole weekend.

Free you say? hmmm never considered this before as usally go to the F1 there but could be very tempted in an early June road trip.

Good choice

You can only buy one ticket for the Spa Classic and that will get you into all areas of the circuit - general admission, seats and paddocks. As said above in the paddocks you will be able to wander round the club & classic cars (approx 900 there last year) and get very close (almost run over if you're not paying attention!) to the competing cars as they go to/from their races.

Last year there were approx 16000 people at the event which might sound a lot but it isn't given the large area that the circuit covers. When we walked a lap on Saturday and Sunday there were very few people from Eau Rouge all the way to the Bus Stop chicane so no problems at all in getting a good view whenever we wanted to stop for a bit.

If you want to explore the surrounding area the Nurburgring is only a short drive away on some excellent roads and it just happens to be open that weekend
