I'm stacking up my list of things to do and have made a start with some already. I'm not particularly bothered about moving the battery at this point as I have an Anderson connector under the bonnet, but would like to move the fuse box behind the pax seat to make it easily accessible. I've seen an example on the Austec/ RV8 CD I bought where the wiring looms have been unwound and taped against the central gearbox tunnel. What it didn't show was how they removed the fusebox and the example seemed to have part of the fibreglass still attached to the back of the box. Does this have to be cut out and if so, how do you go about it?

Some pics. here that may help in this excellent topic from Engineer1949. Check out p.14.

I also intend moving the fusebox to the boot (when it's warmer in the garage!). I shall fix the ECU to the front bulkhead and put the battery in an open cradle, so that it can be removed without having to grovel underneath removing the bolts for the box. If I want more legroom I can then fit an Odyssey battery. Definitely don't fancy sitting the battery on top of 50 litres of petrol!

Are all of the looms really long enough to reach that far. There doesn't seem to be a lot of excess cable in mine so I'm not sure if it would reach that far.

Thanks for that Daren. These were the pics I was referring to in my original post, only I saw them here:

The piece of fibreglass adhered to the back of the fuse box, was that just cut free from the back of the bulkhead then?

the fibreglass looks to have been made just so it mounts properly behind the seat.
I didn't have that I just moved it, wires are long enough, and it fits so tightly in the hole that there is no way it's moving around. I probably should fasten it in properly but it doesn't move at all

The photos are of my car & yup if you unwind all of the loom it will reach, just!
I made the fibreglass extension to the fusebox to fit the recess as I didn't want it rattling around, since I did the fusebox & battery move a few years ago & have not had any issues at all...
If you have any other questions or want any other pictures ask away & I'll see what I can do..

Hi andy, are the battery cables also long enough to leave in the footwell or are these independent of the fuse board?
Probably a silly question.

Thanks
