To All New Car Buyers...
Discussion
Do you not read through the quote breakdown of costs before you sign on the dotted line? Or just find them after and come on the internet and complain about them? If you look at price lists it will give you a breakdown of the delivery costs, it will tell you if it comes with a full tank of fuel/mats/flaps/furry dice or not.
If it doesn't say that it comes with any of the above, never assume, ask the salesman. If it doesn't, then haggle for it in the deal. New car margins have been erroded away to them sum total of diddly squat so you're not going to get something if you don't ask for it. If a dealership sells 200 cars a year and gives away a tank of fuel (say £70) with each deal, that's £14k straight off the bottom line. A lot isn't it?

Difference between a SAVVY buyer and a not so SAVVY buyer I guess - Ive negotiated all sorts on every new car deal and KNOW EXACTLY what I am getting for what I am paying - some have been shocked at just what I have gotten thrown in for them.
But its a good job there are plenty of Not so savvy buyers about as us lot who are would not get the contrasting deals we do LOL

Totally agree with the OP although I have never purchased new.
If you purchased a new fridge would you complain if it never came full of food?
I'd complain if it didn't come full of refridgerant, but I'd not expect it to come full of electricity or food or vodka. I'm not sure how that translates back to my expectations when buying a car.If you purchased a new fridge would you complain if it never came full of food?

Certainly would expect it to come with some oil, even if it wasn't on the invoice!I usually wouldn't expect a full tank of fuel (although it'd be nice!)
