Using far too much nitrous with no ignition retard, too low revs on activation, racing an Audi R8 on the motorway.... i cant go on.... bad times frown

I was interested in a 2000 Chimaera on a 'V' reg. The ad stated that the reg was not for sale so I had a look at a replacement reg. I particularly liked either V33 EYT or V33 AYT. As in VEE 8.

That must have been embarrassing. Did you go out in style though BOOM SMOKE SMOKE or was it just a loss of power ?

I left him standing doing 80 to 120 in under 4 seconds then a big explosion under the bonnet.
Engine was very rough so i pulled off at the next junction. Had to push the elbow, breather hoses and hose to the stepper etc back on then fired it up. I drove it 100 miles home with the piston like that and fragments of piston rattling about. I also had a badly bent inlet valve and damage to number 2 piston from bits of the one in the pic. We race and learn smile

Kinell, least you were stuffing him til then eh. Did you re build same engine! Must have been agony driving with all that rattling. An old boy told me they made pistons out of wood to get the trucks going again, north Africa WW2, I believe him now!
