I have searched but can not find a detailed maintenance schedule for the Esprit. I am looking at buying a 2003 and needed to know when each service should be performed. The dealer I called said the first A service is at 6,000 miles however the current owner had his first oil change at 1,500 miles. Does anyone have, or know where I can find, a detailed listing of what to do when on a late model Esprit? Does something need to be done every 1,500 miles? Thanks for your help.

Manual has it all... as does service notes. First service is at 1500... a few other bits done as well, like tightening of the rear wheel bearing hubs. Other service intervals are done every 6000 miles, but only an 'A' and 'B' service exist for the V8. I do mine every 5,000 and 10,000 and actually do more than the book suggests. I also make sure ALL fluids are done annually regardless of mileage. I also recommend checking cambelt tension every 10,000 miles as they will probably be flapping by 12,000 (recommended interval).

The manual says:

1000 – 1500 (or 12 months since vehicle sale) Aftersales Service

Then its:

6,000 A
12,000 A
18,000 A
24,000 A + Cambelts
30,000 A
36,000 B
42,000 A
48,000 A
54,000 A
60,000 A
66,000 A
72,000 B + Cambelts
78,000 A
84,000 A
90,000 A
96,000 A
102,000 A

If the car is doing a low mileage the intervals are then 12 months.

The After Sales service is basically oil & filter plus general vehicle check which completes the running in period.

B service is essentially an A plus new plugs, transmission oil change, air filter and a few other items.

cheers
Rob

Just to add.. my manual actually says cambelts are due every 36k, but this is not correct. The factory recommendation is every 24k.

My own car had cambelts at 24, 48 then also when the engine was rebuilt at 54, hence also then at 78k. My next belts change will be at 102k

Lotus specifies that the timing belts be tensioned every 12,000 miles. In the USA, Lotus performs the service free of charge up to 96,000 miles.

My 1993-1997 manual says to replace the V8 timing belts on non-USA cars at 72,000 miles and on USA cars at 102,000 miles or 8 years. Don't believe it ! I think the intervals noted in Rob's message are much wiser.
