I loved my trip round the factory - my little lad was disappointed that there were no huge machines.
must do another one of these days
oh, and the last time I was there, they were selling morgan slot racing sets and cars
Take your lad to the Mini factory in Oxford. They do regular tours open to the public and they have loads of fantastic huge machinery!must do another one of these days

He also liked the shop - we now have morgan slot cars (made by carrera) which are excellent
I asked the tour guide about the number of people that place orders at the end of the tour. His reply was "quite a few"... that place is inspiring.
We found it best to linger at the back since you can really take your time to look around and speak to any of the staff. I was most impressed with the panel beater- his eye for detail is astonishing. Everyone seemed friendly, even the chaps working on the 3 wheeler that were crammed into a really small place. Demand for that model had increased and they were running out of space, so a few chaps are tightly packed in.
In the interior warehouse there were some young apprentices. I spoke to the lad who's job it was to spray glue onto some wood and fit carpet to it. I asked what part it is and he said the glovebox. The pride he took in just that one part was second to none. He didnt seem bored at all (surely you would be after a while).
I loved it and I sure you will too

Who do you need to speak to get an invite / book a tour?I never really got Morgans untill I did the tour 2 years ago. I now have a lot of respect for the Morgan company and hope they will keep on going for a long time. Just so cool to see the skilled workers and the whole place just feels so different to what you would expect from a car company these days. Definately recommended!
