Can the battery in the blipper get so low that it lights the red light but fails to set the alarm?

The battery in my blipper is lighting the little red light but not setting the alarm, but I'm guessing you worked that out...

Yes. Put it on your chin and see if it works, body acts as an antenna.

I replaced the batteries every few years as a precaution - sad eh. Except I've been caught out in the past on another car and had to call recovery due to failed transmitter battery.

What type of remote & alarm is it?

I have no idea what alarn it is...the remote says "SPAL" on it and has 3 buttons in a sort of upside down Mercedes badge formation. The right button locks, left uinlocks and the front one is "aux" whatever that is.

Oh yes it says on the back that left and right at the same time means "panic"! I'm serious, that's what it says...

The panic feature means if you hold the two buttons down together within range it sets the alarm off.
Very useful if you get pinned up against the wall by some leggy blond with big..................

No wonder the battery ran out then, that happens to me all the time!!

Hmm changed the battery and still no joy. I think I read somewhere that after disconnecting the battery you need to reset the alrm with the remote somehow? Is that true? Does anyone know how to do it?
