Hi all, ive just bought a Cerby, my first TVR. I mamaged to get a really low mileage 4.2, fabulous.
However the limited use has brought its problems, the biggest of which are the leaky shocks.
Does anyone have a set they would like to part with?? Not bothered about the brand, I just need to get it back on the road without spending a packet at this stage!
Thanks!!

Wow - you are one lucky guy, that has to be the easiest cheapest fix imaginable!

£500 will get you a set of Protechs, well respected for fast road and occasional track. You'll have to fit them yourself at that price, but you've bought a TVR - you know you have to work on them yourself, don't you?

It not, start saving now....

Needless to say the service bill is quite heavy, but yes this is a really simple job and i'd like to find a good used set to keep me going (if at all possible).

I like you're thinking, I would have offered you my old AVOs, but they were leaking slightly so they've already found their way to the tip.

As it happens I have a couple of used rears that you're welcome to FOC (small donation to charity welcome), can't remember what they are (got them off a fellow PHer).

Doubt they are worth a refurb, more like get you through an MOT. If you need them I'll bring them back from my parents in a few weeks time, then they are yours to do as you wish mid March. (collect W London)

I have a pair of non-leaking rears, wrapped up and ready to go but the post is £40 from here (which I know coz a previous PHer wanted them until he discovered the postal costs).
They are the original ones fitted to my '01 4.5

Maybe we could do a deal with regards to your Spiders
( Do you know yet if you have 'fronts' all round or 'fronts' and 'rears' ?)

You could give them to someone on the Spa trip, depending on where in the UK he is.

Even if he is nowhere local.. Still be much cheaper to post them from the UK.
