took my Y piece off and found the O/S pre cat in the top of the main cat. has any one seen this before or any ideas why it would break up?
thanks Graeme

Not recommended, though it has been done.
My local(ish) TVR specialist pretty much refused to have anything to do with the 'bash it out' method.

The preferred method is to have the pipe cut open, remove the internals, and weld it back up.
Much less chance of your engine ingesting something unpalatable.

Long drill, variuous chisels and screw drivers. Took me a morning to get both out. This included tea and ciggy breaks to straighten my back. Done on the car but be careful not tho break the sensors.

+1.. but not on the car... You don't want bits getting back to your cylinders.. and they easily could smile

+2.. Got the Tee Shirt and like yours, mine too was sitting on top of main cat - thankfully not for too long.
