Instead of £360 for my poverty pork I included 2 every day cars on a multi car quote with Admiral.
The Porsche came out at £220 this year.
One happy man!

I got a similar good deal. They've even given us a very good quote on my (nearly) 17 year old's MINI for a policy in her name but under our multi-car scheme- hundreds rather than the thousands I was expecting!
Impressed.

just switched Cayenne 4.5 from Admiral single policy and price fell from £720 to £520 and added 996T this week for an extra £450 based on 7,000 mileage. Wifes Merc will join the fleet later in the year for £230 (£120 saving).

very pleased with how it's worked out.

+1 for Admiral

Some on here berate them for poor service, but I have had no problems.

Although, not sure how they deal with claims, which seemed to be the complaint on here.

For me - their prices are 50% cheaper than anyone else for the turbo. So I have pretty much no choice but to use them. But the multicar policy is great!

I was quoted 950 fully comp for a 2009 Turbo. Silly considering quotes for 'lesser' cars were coming in at 1500!

I've been with admiral for a few years, but you need to bear a couple of things in mind.
1) They only pay on the value of the car as if it was basic spec. so they do not take into account the PCM, PSE, etc
2) They very much want you to use their own authorised repair shops. No taking it to an OPC in the event of an own fault claim.
Another thing to note: you often get discounts for adding 2nd and third drivers too

+1 for Admrial, been with them on Multi car polices for a number of years. In 2009 I had a 1.2 Renault Clio and a new 997.2 C2S (75K value) and paid £1500 for a year, not bad for a 26 year old smile

Got even better in 2010, uprgrade the 1.2 Clio to a 172 Cup Clio and the C2S to a brand new 997.2 GT3RS (120K value), I paid £1250!

Currently have the 172 Cup and Ferrari 355 Spider for £900.

I do have a voluntary 500 excess which helps.

Had Multicar with Admiral for 5 years now & never beaten on price...

Have used them for 2 claims in all that time & it was handled perfectly...

You have the right to use who you want for repairs, as far as I am aware, (not sure if this is diff for fault claim).

They may ask you to get a couple of quotes, but don't think they can insist that you use their authorised repairers. (Although all insurers may prefer it - this is obviously for loss prevention on their part, so people don't go to their mates and get dodgy inflated quotes).

Yes but when you take the policy out they ask if has any mods or extras over manufactures base spec. So declare all your options and it will be included in the market value offer on the car as they list it all on the paperwork. To be honest I do that with any insurance company as they will always offer lowest values on base spec cars.

I always have my mum on my insurance as well as named driver smile

I am also with Admiral multicar for the Boxster and Range Rover although I have just been quoted via A-plan and had a reduction compared to last year's Admiral premium.

I recently switched to Admiral Multicar recently and saved around £200 on the Porsche, broke even with Mini but saved around £300 on my daughters first car which was the main reason for switching as the more cars you have on the bigger the discounts

I've also been with Admiral for years. I did once go on one of those comparison websites and it came out higher than my renewal !

I've also needed to claim twice unfortunately, but both cases were handled extremely well.

1) Another driver went into the side of my E36 on a roundabout. Repairable but they chose to write off and offered me more than I'd paid for the car over a year earlier. I tried to sound disappointed while I bit their hand off.

2) I gently bumped into the back of another car at some traffic lights. I wanted the work done by an independant who'd been recommended and Admiral were fine with it. The actual work was terrible, but that's a whole other story. I probably should have gone with Admiral's repairer in that case.

My parents & brother are with Admiral too, they've both claimed once and been pleased with the service.

admiral multi-car was AWFUL when we changed a car recently.

On their website the new car was £200 pa cheaper to insure than the old one. But multi-car wanted to charge me £200 EXTRA for remaining 10 months of insurance to change the car. Bare-faced contempt for you as an existing customer.

So I had a full refund granted to me for remaining 10 months of cover, and insured the new car for £200 less than this refund for full 12 month policy (with better cover). I will avoid admiral in the future if at all possible based on this contempt for the people who give them money.

I used to have a Clio 200 cup and CSL on multicar. By far the cheapest but what a fk about when we changed cars and other details. Repeatedly sending policy documents out with incorrect details, which means another lengthily phone call (normally to india) explaining for the 4th time what they've fked up.

Now with CCI, cracking service. Similar price this time on CSL and GT3. Best bit is you can email and speak to the same person. Personal service makes all the difference.

I was amazed at how reasonable the first year with Admiral multicar was.

I was equally amazed at how poor their renewal price was (despite no change in circumstances).

Needless to say, they didn't get the second year.

Just got my Admiral multicar renewal and it is miles to expensive.

Went onto a comparison website and Admiral come in around £200 less than they have quoted on my renewal.

Same thing happened last year and they matched it no questions.I don't pretend to understand the industry but cannot work out why they do this year after year.

Yes, it's a bit daft.

A small hike would probably go un-noticed, and most would probably not bother switching if it was just a small hike plus inflation, but with comparison sites making it very easy to asess whether or not you're getting a good deal, it does seem a bit of a short-sighted strategy.

Same cr@p experience when I changed a car last year - the additional cost to change for 7 months was nearly as 1 year with Aviva.
I still have 3 cars on the policy (2 x young drivers) and their initial renewal was laughable; after negotiation I got a 'loyalty' discount of 15%
I have had a quote to add another car onto the policy - which seems competative, but I'm wary!
Depending what time you call depends whether the call gets answered in Wales or India!

Summary - cheap first year; but don't change your car mid policy!

I got a quote of £2250 for my cars, £2000 cheaper than the renewal from Zurich Private Clients, spoke with Admiral regarding 'what if' repairs, the lady on the phone said as long as my quote tallied with their quote I could use whoever, if however my quote was higher then I would have to pay the difference. I can imagine the difference between their approved bodyshop and a Ferrari or Porsche approved repairer might soon eat into any 'saving' in the policy.
IMHO you get what you pay for Admiral are cheap and I bet that shows should the s**t hit the fan..
On a plus...
  • Went back to Zurich got them to come down £800.00 so thanks to Admiral for that!* Been with Zurich 3 years now, always a pleasure to deal with (I pay for it) only ever claimed for a screen and the service was immediate, chopped and changed cars to my hearts content never an issue, again IMHO you get what you pay and that includes peace of mind..
