Came on to the M6 yesterday from Wigan and heard a 'thonk' (bit like a bump but more thonky).

Thought nothing more until pulled off down to Eccles just before the Thelwall viaduct.

Was in slow moving traffic so the exit to the slip road was sort of .. flamboyant as its a nice bit of S bend first right then left.

The right was fine but as soon as I shifted in to the left hand bit, the scenery changed and I was pointing backwards fast on to the roundabout all wheels locked.

Stopped without hitting anything checked 2 legs 2 arms one head - but my near side rear tire had popped after what looks like something had taken an 1" long slice out of the tread; the offending bit was now missing.

I guess the slow traffic had stopped anything happening on the M6 (no damage to the side walls) but it looks like as soon as it needed to do any work it gave up.

AA back home as it was pointless using the can o gunge and now waiting for the ‘book a track’ people to deliver £125 down and having to rely on the Fiesta and Mrs funs Volvo this weekend (the shame).

Still a bit surprised that it could sustain that much damage and stay inflated it’s a real chunk that goes through to the belting.

Glad to hear you're beaut is still in one piece, and more so, that you are.

I don't suppose you'd care to choose my lottery numbers this week?

Yes could have been a lot lot worse.

As for lottery numbers I think I may have used up this years 'luck allocation'!
