I have hundreds of photos on my laptop- all unsorted. Simply dragged and dropped from the memory card. Can anyone recommend a free album/picture sorter which will sort them into chronological order?

Thanks!

I'm fairly sure you're not using a flavour of Linux, but in my opinion the kill app for Linux is an image management program called Geeqie. It is simply brilliant and you could probably do exactly what you need with that. If you just happen to be using Linux, hey, grab Geeqie and be merry! smile

Windoze will let you 'view' them chronologically. (Assuming they are in a folder)

Nope. Checked the project page on Sourceforge and there's no Windows version.

I am a fan of Picasa, and use it extensively .... but it's not really album software per se.

This might be worth a look, it's free and has some nice features:

I took a look and clearly didn't understand "album software"
features like adding a single picture to multiple albums was something I hadn't thought of

so thanks......... Its downloading now

Interesting to see if it will manage pictures on wireless network drives as this is
something Picasa cant do
