Can anyone recommend a decent Indian restaurant near Heathrow? I guess Southall will have lots.

I'd recommend Karahi Express for some spicy, tasty and no nonsense indian food. I've been going there over 10 years and rarely had a bad meal.

Good range of curries, decent naans and good tandoori starter selection. They let you bring your own booze and food is well priced too, with soft drinks we tend to average £15-20 a head but that leaves us incredibly stuffed!

They have a branch in Hounslow West or on Uxbridge Road in Hayes, neither are far from Heathrow.

Thanks for those.

Any halal ones? A couple of the guys on the team are Muslim so if we are going to male them eat veggie all week it would be nice if they could at least have meat on the curry night!

None of the ones suggested say halal.

Sipson Tandoori is halal

http://www.sipsontandoori.com/

Also, the majority on Southall Broadway are also halal.

Spice Village is one of the better ones
Shahee tandoori
Chaudry's TKC (one of the best)

If slough's not too far out of the way, my friend's restaurant, Kashmiri Karahi http://www.kashmirikarahi.co.uk/ is absolutely fantastic.

All of the above are halal

Might give the one in Slough a go as its closer than the Sipson one to our hotel! Thanks for that!

I would recommend the The Harlington Tandoori for a sit-down meal. I used to work in the area and the food is amazing. The decor is a bit basic but is more than made up with the cuisine.

The food is quite hot but with a flavour and subtelty that you rarely find elsewhere.

It is just off the A4 at the Ariel Holiday Inn turning.

This is my first post but I have no links to the business except that I have eaten there many times, and now work in East Anglia, and after many years travelling it is the place that I miss the most.

ETA: Now work elsewhere.
