I've got my stock brakes off my Z4M which are the exact same parts as the M3 CSL's and i may be looking to sell them.

Does anyone know what it takes to install these on normal E46 M3s? The front discs are bigger (345mm vs 325mm) and the rear callipers are also bigger than the M3's but if you provide everything, including the callipers and calliper carriers then will it fit on M3's?

Thanks!

Only the mounting bracket part of the CSL calipers is different to the normal M3 to account for the bigger disc, the piston side of the caliper is the same.

Therefore the only difference between the two is whats shown in the picture below and can be fitted to normal M3 if required.

The rear callipers are also different as i mentioned. They even have different parts numbers. http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=DU92&amp... for Z4M/M3 CSL/M3 CS and http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=BL93... for M3. Check the text, it mentions the different parts numbers there as well for the rear pistons.

So to summarise, if i send the buyer the discs and carriers and the rear pistons then they're set. Right?

Front & Rear calipers, front carriers & front discs are different to Std M3.
The rest is the same.

Darreni, are you sure mate? Realoem shows the front callipers have the same part number across all models (M3, M3 CS, M3 CSL and Z4M). I think it's the front discs, front and rear carriers and rear pistons that are different.

I have CSL calipers on standard M3, when I bought them the part numbers were different though that was just because of them being black.

Caliper is the same, albeit a different part number (was it due to being panted?) so all you need are discs and caliper carriers. I would love a set of carriers.....

I think rear calipers piston size is bigger on CS/CSL possibly to compensate for brake bias of bigger front brake discs :-) ?

An old thread, but I thought I'd confirm.

As for the confirmed differences:

-Front discs (325mm vs 345mm)
-Front Carriers
-Rear calipers (44mm vs 46mm pistons)

The rest, however, is the same.

I've just bought a set for my M3 from a Z4 M, which has the same setup as a CSL.

STD m3 rear piston size is 42mm vs 46mm on the CSL.
