I realise there has been numerous threads and there's the wiki, but who are people using nowadays? Also is it a given that a car over £40k needs a tracker as I'm very reluctant to get one fitted. My renewal premium seems to have shot up and that's before I by the required tracker

I'm with Henderson Taylor.

I expect renewal to be around £450 this year, 6000 miles and to/from work.
I do have a tracker fitted but don't think it's a requirement.

They won't do agreed value though frown

You could try classicline if you don't mind who the underwriter is.

Ray had my Sagaris with Manning UK very good, valured at 50k and cost me a little over £300 3k miles a year but you can call any time to increase to 6 k and cost a bit more
Just insured my Tuscan LS 6.2 with them additional £150

Mannings UK would be my suggestion, with fixed value cover.

Get your tracker installed and then pay a "one-off" for lifetime cover
with the tracking company. It is more expensive than a one-year subscription,
but will save you money in the longer term if the car is a keeper.

I think with mannings you dont need a tracker until you get to a value of 50K plus, insured mine for this amount last year and had to get the tracker already in the car from a previous owner switched back on.

That's true. Mine blew the £50k limit a while back, so I have to have one installed, but as I had already got the tracker up and running previously, didn't add any extra cost. biggrin

That's one way of putting it tongue out

Chatsworth might be looking dodgy for me now. Seems like I might be spending a number of months in America this year now, but
we shall see...

Fun, fun, fun!

Ok so just insured mine with mannings, same car braders posted about earlier @ £300 on a 50K Value but know on a 60K value and in a SW london location i paid £665!yikes Full no claims and i'm over 40 with no points in the last 10, garaged & alarmed & blocked in!! & they insure my other tvr's.

Good news is I pay less for the 500hp LSGriff conversion confused

When i first started driving it was when you get to 20 it will get cheaper then 25 then 30 and it goes on, know in my mid 40's i wonder if it will ever happen smile

Dont worry it will get cheaper when you are over 50 ha ha!
I guess you have a high risk postcode or they are only allowing you to use your no claims on 1 of your cars?

I am with Mannings and I think they are the best for TVRs IMHO

I don't have agreed value on mine yet (will do this renewal) but I think the premium is higher if you're not limiting your mileage down low.. is yours unlimited mileage Christian ??

PS with your 'spotted tvr' threads how come you no points ??? hehe

You do need a tracker if its over £40k. Nearly 30% increase with these then the tracker on top.
Going to try Mannings, although not holding much hope, I seem to remember they wanted £1200 for the Chim when others were quoting £500

Ours is with Jelf through Zurich. Agreed value of 65K, limited mileage, business use included, tracker required.

Not too sure of cost as it's part of an excellent fleet policy.

Have the Sag insured with Mannings, was told by them that tracker requirement is down to postcode and was not required where we are until £70K and above.
Give them a try I found they were one of the most expensive for several years and then for the last two they have been the most competitive of those recommended on here.

I'm impressed by some of the Mannings quotes mentioned above but can only assume they really hammer post codes they don't like.

Mannings just quoted me £649 for my 2004 Tamora and that was with 5000 mile limit frown
That's more than £200 above Henderson Taylor who have lower excess and higher mile limit.

Mannings have come in at £603, with a tracker required if the value is over £50k. Best so far is Aviva with £459, what could possibly go wrong hehe

Was the AVIVA quote direct or through a broker ?
My Sag is up for renewal soon and I'm with AVIVA via HT.

Just had a look at the AVIVA policy. My concerns are; having to use their approved repairer or pay £200, no agreed value and no track day cover. However for my Tuscan, £314 with a 6000 mile limit, is very tempting.
