Hi All,

Looking to replace the 8 track in my Cerb with a bluetooth ( for hands free) and iphone 5 compatible music player. I don't need a CD player or multichanger.

I would like to have a standard single din set up with a cable to plug my iphone into and a cradle so that can use it for sat nav and to control music. Do you guys have anything like this?

If so what have you got and any pics would be helpful. thanks

Ill probably upgrade the speakers as well, but im not an audiophile ( no point in a Cerb) so any simple speaker upgrades would be recommended, ideally to fit in like for like in the current apertures.

I like alpine stuff nothing over top silly colour screens or the likes good sound quality with loads of options. I use micro SD cards in micro USB readers. And they will do blue tooth and I phone leads as well.

the sony has a remote control
they were all under £100 and im really happy with them.
the sony came from amazon

Thanks guys, do you ahve a phone holder and is it stuck to the screen? my preference is something mounted under the radio in the gap where everything slides off when you go around a corner.

ive got an i phone with a piggy back battery

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1900mAh-PORTABLE-EXTERNA...

my iphone has an app called witness installed which acts as dash cam. i stuck velcro on the back of the battery pack and a bit of velcro on the screen with the phone resting on the dash in the battery pack. so i have 4 in 1. music and phone calls bluetoothing to radio. phone acting as dash cam and my google maps as a sat nav. a really neat , small practical solution i think

Car PC in the boot with a single din flip up touch screen in the dash. The PC runs Centrafuse as a touch friendly front end which handles music (entire collection on an SSD), DAB radio, Mapfactor Navigator 10 for GPS/navigation, the ECU diagnostics software permanently wired into the pc, phone on bluetooth hands free, data logger interface and camera/video playback for track & sprinting.

The navigation, ECU software, and data logging is great to have but the music and radio is a dead loss - I have never listened to it since I set it up. On the rare occasions I have tried to use the phone there is too much road & engine noise for it be really successful.

I quite fancy one of these.... simple black and white unlike most of the disco ball head units nowadays.

DEH-80PRS

Parrot bluetooth for handsfree and bluetooth music streaming. Even works with the new lightning iphone 5 cable apparently.

I have this parrot fitted to my Cerb, looks great in the car and has all the functions I require including hands free, voice command and sat nav.
This unit has a very short body and fits nicely into the dash.

I've just ordered this for my cerb (and another for my exige):

http://www.iroconline.com/iRoc/index.html

this way I can use the iphone sat nav (tom tom); as well as control music of the iphone- AND you can mount your ipad or ipad mini for giant sat nav....

That looks great Darren, what's the hands free like for making and receiving calls like?
I was looking at this as it's got android on it as well..

Hi Aide,
Trust you're well.
The clarity and simplicity of this unit is very impressive, it really suits
the Cerbera interior too.
The cars tucked up in the garage but I'll try to post a pic of it in situ tomorrow.

i had an alpine ida x 305 , has no cd player , multi media head unit , am very disapointed, needed extra bt unit for 60 quid that keeps crashing cost 300+ quid, i have another vehicle with a pioneer deh 7100bt , it cost a 100 quid 3yrs old from car audio direct i think, and is all singing and dancing , with hp and lp filters and a 7 band ed , with 2 aux and a remote , plus usb/ipod, bluetooth capable of streaming music blah blah blah , my point it was a hundred quid and wicked. u may wanna go down that avenue i wish i had, loads better and cheaper.

Interested in this too - what is the nav thing, is it just google maps or can it direct you - also does it need constant data or can download maps?

Thanks Darren,
I'm good, haven't had the cerbera for a few weeks - it's off getting a few bits and bobs looked after.
You're going to have to come to Spa so I can see the stereo wink

I also meant to say, bearing in mind the poor FM reception, what are peoples experiences of DAB in a Cerb?

No direct experience but as the problem with radio reception in a Cerb is the ariel and lack of ground plane then the experience using DAB would not be good unless a better ariel system were to be installed.
