My 944S2 Cabrio(1989) won't start!
The RAC man went through the electrics very thoroughly..great sparks in all the right places, then the fuel,...plenty, in fact too much. He checked there was no obstruction or sticking of the flap in the Air Mass box. He then disconnected the green electrical connectors above the injectors( heaven knows what they are called or what they do!) and cleaned the plugs with a blowtorch. The engine then ran briefly (4 or 5 seconds), even responding to the throttle. It then died as the fuel in the cylinders & inlet tract was exhausted. The green thingies were reconnected & the engine promptly flooded again.
He gave it best at this stage (90mins) so I am faced with trailering the car 25 miles to my local Porsche expert (who sensibly suggested it might be a fuel pressure problem!)
Anyone any ideas as to anything I could try? I even have a spare DME relay now as the non starting was not that!redface

It does sound like the fuel pressure regulator from what you've said.

Any idea is it serviceable or a replacement job...or is yet another relay involved!

You need a replacement one fitted I think. I'm sure they're still available.

The fule pressure regulator is a always a likely candidate. Unfortunately for you, this is the most expensive 944 FPR.
