September issue of Sprint, pg 13 (interview with girl from electronics assembly team).

QUOTE

The Cerbera has ten different ECUs controlling functions ranging from engine management to door opening and locking. Those early ECUs are still made using traditional soldering methods that have proven to be robust. And they are still used in the Cerbera today, in its tenth year of production'

END QUOTE

What a load of tosh. I have had no end of snags with door and window controllers and, it seems, so has everybody else. Is it any wonder we still have posts about dodgy wipers, brakes, clutch cylinders, engines etc, etc when the company itself pushes out such crap. Finally I will leave you with this

ANOTHER QUOTE - Lord Melchett

That's the spirit George, if nothing else works then a total pig-headed unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through.

Finally I got to see Tracey, whose signature is inscribed on my door and window control box. Pity she's a bit mean with the Araldite though -- I had to redo it because the connector was falling off.

Tosh indeed. The Cerbera has one ECU. Unless of course you count the magnetic switch in the doors as an ECU. Or the overblown wiper connector above the steering which is just a glorified connector.
Perhaps you could barely call the Alarm an ECU. One of the few bits of my car that hasn't come to pieces yet?

Perhaps she means 'most Cerberas end up having 10 ECU repairs because I'm as mean with the solder as I am with the Araldite..'?

TVR don't actually make the ECU though!

You could argue that wht wiper box, door box, light box etc... are ECUs, but you couldn't argue they are well constructed! The smell of melted plastic is testament to that.

Her control boxes might be poor but she certainly makes up for it in other departments!

Suppose it depends on your definition of E in ECU. E.G. Door controller, it uses electronics/electricity therefore ECU

I always classed ECU as engine control unit.

My Cerbie had two, one which worked when Mrs Dai Capp was in the car and one which worked when it was only me

My sprint magazine now has holes in it...

Darts thrown after discovering a new heater control unit (in my best hovis bread accent, that is another ECU!) costs well over £200!!!!!!

It's hard to think of gold bars that cost that much for the size!
