Accord....

Not one of the usual suspects, but I can heartily recommend the Accord as a family bus. Nice to drive, well screwed together, great spec and very reliable. Massive boot too!

Executive with toys..

Good luck with the 530i. They only sold 40 530i Sport Touring with a manual gearbox, so finding one for sale let alone finding enough for sale to allow you to pick the diamond out of the rough that is the bottom of the BMW market is sadly going to be virtually impossible frown

Accord - ok, I have yo confess I know nothing about them, like the look, what are the engine options?

530i - I had no idea they were do rare! That's why I discounted a 540. And I thought to find a good 850 CSi was challenging...!

I bought a 2002 Saab 9-5 Aero Hot (admittedly an auto) last weekend for substantially under your budget. I'm absolutely blown away by it - they represent amazing value for money and are commonly owned by enthusiasts, so well looked after and maintained.

Engine options are minimal.

2.0 Petrol, 2.4 Petrol, 2.2 Derv

The 2.4 Petrol is a very smooth motor tbh. Not super quick but it pulls very well and is fast enough(around 190bhp I think). Six speed box in the Type-S iirc.

I came so so close a few weeks ago to buying an uber rare manual 540i Sport touring. It was close to me, I test drove it and it drove nice....just very iffy in the paintwork dept. frown

We were looking for a sub-2k estate - all the German options had been to the moon and/or were photographed outside Delboy's tower block. The 9-5 Aero seemed better value at that price point.
