That does look impressive. Never seen that kind of set up before. Would be perfect for race car transportation. A covered "low loader" like that would be perfect.

Didn't Rolls Royce use this method to collect broken cars as it didn't do the brand image much good to have one on an open trailer ..... myth or not?

Broke down on Sunday whilst on a drive to the lakes. I limped home (as fast as I dare) with an Andersen lead strapped to the outside of the car and the RACs man battery in my passenger footwell. The alternator wasn't charging but also drained a new battery, after 3 days my accumate hadn't got the charge back, so decided another call to the RAC and get it into X-Works. Paul tested the alternator and ziltch, so I took it for repair, should be back Monday, suspect diode pack faulty.
The breakdown man said the truck was for "exotics", so just right for a TVR .
The offending object .... Any excuse for a photo .

its no myth.
friend of mine had a Shadow 2 and was on holiday in it in France when it Broke down. Car was out of warranty. Covered plain wagon turned up and dropped off a replacement shadow 2 for the duration of his holiday. Upon his return to Blighty his replacement car was picked up, his new car was already at his home...

Upon ringing the dealer he asked if their were any costs incurred for the recovery and coutesy car for the breakdown...

The reply came back "what breakdown sir? Rolls Royces don't break down!"

That was the old days of course...i wonder if things would still be the same...

A lot of prestige manufacturers won't allow there high end cars to be seen on the back of a Rac/AA truck .
