Or is she ???My girlfriend will be using my vixen this summer as her daily driver and she does a fair few miles every week.It is all standard originalish Vixen stuff with a 1700 X flow.To say she is a steady driver could best be explained when she had a go in a full fat race TVR of mine at the end of last year link here to give you an idea of the standard of her track driving....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_zITvLIYXw . well over chicken curry & a pear cyder this evening she casually asked if she could use the Vixen on a trackday as she thought it would be a more managable car for her.I was a little taken aback and didn't know how to answer her or if a standard Vixen would fair ok on track or is it a case of wraping it in cotton wool.Do any people on here track there standard vixen's or do you think it would be ok too safely.

Probably faster than you are in your tuscan round the bends hehe

as long as you renewed the rear quills and haven't used non crack tested 40 year old second hand rear uprights you should be OK ??

We track our 1600M. It's nearly standard, engine is producing 125Bhp, and it's got some yoko 195 tyres, and uprated shocks.

Goes really well, not as fast on the straights as almost everything, but it goes around corners amazingly well.

I've never even got it to slide yet, has an amazing amount of grip.

You do need to give it the beans though, as in, full throttle everywhere, biggrinbiggrin

Just brilliant. Hats off for sharing!

Oh the Vixen question - yeh why not. Will get faster soon enough, especially when there's no passenger driving.

Try the TVRCC track day at Cadwell and some tuition from Helen.
Vixens are great track cars.

thanx for the thoughts and advise.we shall definatly be taking it on track then, can't wait till the spring to get a feel of how a vixen goes round a track.A lot different to my usual TVR track weapons but all the same thrilling i hope.

I hope your sump has been well baffled, some crossflows do not like heavy right handers as they have a pick up on the right of the sump.
