And nothing went wrong...

I "had" to use the Chim for commuting this week as I ended up doing a lot of traveling and didn't fancy the train. So I have been from Gloucester to Plymouth and back (same day - Monday) down to Crawley and back on Tuesday, Plymouth again on Wednesday and London on Thursday, I think I covered ~1100 miles this week and aside from filling her up (sometimes more than once in 24 hours) nothing needed doing..
Not only that but I actually enjoyed every mile of it, even the parts stuck in traffic. I managed to have the roof off a couple of days too.
She kept up with everything on the road, even allowing me to have a bit of fun with some very nice cars on quieter stretches of motorway.
This weekend i will treat her to a damn good wash as my poor baby is looking very disheveled.
The only reason for the post (aside from boasting) is so that when people considering buying a Chim look at the forum it's not all negative.
I know a Mondeo would have done the trip equally well and cheaper too, but OMG I just had a week of driving a TVR and got paid to do it! Our company has a policy that says we can travel during works time, so sometimes a 7.5 hour day was actually 5 hours of driving and 2.5 hours of meetings...
Paid to drive a TVR, it's like a dream come true

I'd walk in like Alan Suger, all bolshy and let's get this s
t sorted kinda thing, more tivvin time. Drove mine on a busy Friday afternoon on the M6, felt wonderful knowing most drivers were frustrated by the steady speed, I loved it, in fact I felt guilty of such pleasure, I'm normally in the same traffic hating it!!!!

Also used mine yesterday - picked a day when there wasn't so much cr4p on the roads.
Where does this reputation for lack of reliability come from? My Chim is the the most reliable car I have - both the other two have let me down in recent months but Trev just fires up and goes. Every time. It's been the perfect justification to the wife - proving that I absolutely NEED have a 'spare' car. The manic grin after every drive is just a side effect she has to live with.

Its ridiculous or what! Like the car in Sprint just having it's 240,000 mile service, I notice knowone even mentions it,I find that strange! maybe it's a myth perpetrated by the rich boys to keep us working class types from daring to buy one, lol. Joke. I reckon if you bought a new motor drove it1200 miles a year in summer, left it in cold garage every winter it would not work properly. All that oxidisation and no running to get rid of all the furred up and sticking parts. One thing starts to lead to another. I'm hoping to drive mine for 10,000 miles every year, of course you wear things out but it's better than driving once a month and it still going wrong, if I'm spending on repairs at least I enjoy the benefits.
At least once a year since owning my Chimaera I find myself going out for a pint of milk, and end up doing 3,500 miles round mainland Europe

I did have a slight stutter once in heavy rain just outside Le Mans, this frustrating issue continued on and off for a good 3 minutes before it cleared itself
Very disappointing

Now that's a trip, yep credit card, passport..... Shades let's go. I'm a sod for working and not holidaying, not no more. Is that a real word I've just typed. Who cares when you can do that kind of route. Heavens on earth literally! Tvr, god made them for us! That and France to pillage, ho ho ho.
