Have just destroyed my bank account with my engine rebuild, but next year I want to have a body off chassis restoration and maybe a paint job done.

My fave colour for the Cerbera is Rosso Red, anyone had a colour change to this?

I'm guessing its not going to be cheap! My other option is to get a wrap done, this will be cheaper, but not as good a finish I would think?

Have sent them a message, if they can do all my chassis stuff and the paint next year then I will basically have a brand new Cerbera (once I do the interior the year after!).

A £3000 full respray and a £4000 all aperture respray to any colour become £3600 and £4800 including VAT at the new rate of 20%.

Likewise £2800 becomes £3360 after adding the VAT.

SP automotive website prices are inclusive of VAT so a good price, I have been quoted just over 1000 for a wrap in matte red and that comes with a 5 year guarantee.

I hope you're right. Looking on SP Automotives website it says "Paintwork prices stated are all inclusive" Does that actually mean "all inclusive with the VAT" or "All inclusive of all work required"

A bit ambiguous I thought even though you are right about what their website says. I just can't see where it says "Inclusive of VAT"

Don't forget the original rosso red pearl had issues with crazing, fading etc, my first Cerb which was originally rosso pearl red, ended up being repainted to a very similar colour albeit slighty deeper - Nightfire pearl red, see link below, it looked stunning;

My understanding of Rosso red and the problems that can stem from it's use are that it in not a paint but a dye.

The dye is sprayed on and then the clear coat goes on while the dye is still wet, the timing of this and the quantity of dye/clear coat is critical to the finish and final colour which only becomes fully apparent when dry hence why there are differeneces between the cars.

There are only a couple of places that I would use to spray a rosso red cerb and they are both up in Blackpool.

BD, I had a Rosso Pearl (my last cerb) Faded badly and so did a few others. Not sure if this was the case with all?

Yep got an email off them today, they can do a full colour change for £3000.

With the comments about the Rosso Red I’m contemplating the same white as the last Cerbera, (and Orange Spongy! Although more of a Lambo Orange).

I have also been quoted £1050 for a matte red wrap, I think with my new gloss black wheels it may look good.

My car is Rossi red. I was quoted last year between £5-6k for the full respray.
As said its a dye process and doesn't use water based paints. I was told the colour is put on then the lacquer applied whilst its still wet so the colour seeps into it, and so on, hence the depth of colour and the money to do a proper job.
