RT racing sheffield, nice cars ...anyone on here?
Discussion
Just dropped off my chim450 for a full service at RT racing this morning. My first TVR and it's first service for 5 years.Richard seems a good guy. I had to shoot off but did have a nosey st the cars there. Are they anyone on here?. Lovely black(?) cerbera, 3 Griffiths, yellow, British green and a really nice looking gun metal grey one. Red chimaera having body lift and half an original Griffith?. Looking forward to the car getting a good going over. A full garage must be a good sign.
Sounds worse than it is.prev owner spent £1000's on it and it had only done a couple of 100 miles a year since then. I bought it last July my friend changed the oil put new starter on it and been fine over winter. Hoping chassis not too bad as I think the car was a fair weather toy and garaged( fingers crossed!)
Richard, Russel & the boys are first class and best of all stand by there work, mine was the yellow Griff you saw with RT doing all the chassis work since my LS conversion including some very pritty welding!
I must of driven from London to Sheffield over 10 times now & i've never been disappointed

My cerb chassis is with RT at the moment....I spent an entire Saturday travelling from London to Sheffield on the train and then 3-4 hours of Richards time talking through options, work items, colour choices and seeing other examples of their work.
The patience they have shown with my very specific colour choice has been exemplary. And even though I can't have what I want, Richard's time in trying to source the colour and technique is beyond the "standard" call of duty. Aside from that, I love looking round a proper garage that spends time on the cars, not cleaning and polishing the floor.
Taking time to send me photos of the whole process has been brilliant in allowing me to follw where my money is going!
From this...

to this.....

And finally to this (virtually the entire front end rebuilt)

My Chimaera is also in for the full Gold service at RT this week, weather permitting. Called in the other week and Richard very kindly showed me round.Well I am a happy boy! Richard just phoned to say my car is a cracker, all the probs usually seen are sorted.( thanks prev owner!) Having new track rod ends £60 fitted.
Very relieved as was the 2nd car i looked at and my 1st tvr! Went on instict the guy was genuine and that although not serviced for 5 years he had looked after it . Always had a worry that £7750 for a 98 450 with 36k had something to hide.
if Mr Thorpe says chassis is good, then i can live with that!
