has anyone here ever been, or done f1 abroad anywhere, and got any advice that might come in useful.

ive gotta start by getting a passport which will be fun.

looking at driving it, bit of a top gear road trip kinda thing, so would like to take in some sights and have fun basically

Hi there. I have done Spa a few times, most recently in 2011. The camp sites are very close to the track and generally well organised. One thing to remember about Spa is the weather. Usually it will rain, the campsite will become a mud bath. So go prepared. But I am sure you will have a great time. Hopefully I will make it there again this year. Have fun! Finally, book early.

Yep done Spa a number of times, brilliant track and superb weekend. Last time went four up in a 2006 M5, 170 mph on the way down, that was fun!
Left from Dover but will take the tunnel this year for sure, it's so much quicker, the ferry becomes a bit of a drag at midnight on the Sunday. Stay at F1 camping, it's great, take your own tent, much cheaper. They have a bar/disco and every year a famous person turns up and does a talk, last year Eddie Jordan and jake Humphrey, they stayed for an hour or so, was very good. Track is 10 miles down the road. All the locals have their drives and gardens available to park on for 10 euros for the day.
At the end of the race you can get on the track no problem, spend some time in the crash tyres, I found the bottom of Lewis Hamiltons car the year before last and walked out of the track with a four foot piece of carbon.
Give yourself 4-5 from the port each way, pretty much a straight route, easy to follow just pay attention to general direction. Beer is mega bucks in the track 12 euros a pint!
But mate go for it, am off to Spain this year also

hi everyone

can anyone help me

we have tickets for the belgian gp this year and are looking to book in to camp at the elephant campsite. the guy i have been dealing with doesnt speak good english and keeps telling me he cant give me a accurate price as Prices are fixed by the community of Francorchamps per DAY (not stopover) and are beyond our control!

i am unsure what he means by this so could anyone give me any ideas on prices from previous years.

there is 7 of us and we will all have our own tents plus one 7 seat car and a 6ft trailer.

Have booked in the last few days with elephant. If you send in the booking form they will send back an invoice. The price isn't completely transparent till you do this, as they bang on extra for toilets and showers (per person). Were easy to deal with by email and PayPal.

Just checked my invoice. We are paying 135 euros for the pitch (one car and tent), 6 euros per person per day (4 days) for toilets and showers, 30 euros for electrical hookup and a 20 euro refundable deposit
