AFM to Plenum Hose
Discussion
hi to all,
i have been on the useful link site for the AFM to Plenum chamber Hose, and it takes you to Merlin Motorspares highlighting a 80-70mm Samco Extreme Reducer Hose.
However, the length of these in the Extreme range are 76mm (3") The distamce between the two flanges (AFM and Plenum) is 100mm (4").
Now i need to replace my old original one and this one would be too short. Samco do do a longer 80-70mm reducer in their normal hose range, it being 127mm (5"). I could buy one of these and cut it to the correct length.
Has anyone had any experience on buying/fitting any one of these Reducers?

I fitted a 76-80mm reducing hose, which is quite snug at both ends - check your proposed 70mm end is big enough. You will also need to re-position the afm mount to align the afm with the plenum (unless yours line up already), otherwise the reducer will fit poorly, although you can compensate by cutting the ends at an angle.
Good luck!

That Samco hose is blue it would match your coolant hoses ;-)
Blue for water, black for air...

If you mount the jubilee clips the other way round you can get the screw heads underneath facing forward so you can still tighten it but they are not visible.
All just cosmetic
That's true, but I prefer them where I can see them. I DID put them underneath for a while, but they kept skinning my knuckles fiddling with plugs and other stuff under there! All just cosmetic

Thanks,
Graham
