Hi there all,
Just a quick question for your much appreciated expertise, and probably Ziga for his Zoogle knowledge hehe

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a replacement air filter, mine's sort of alright, but I'm working on dressing my engine bay while the weather's so cruddy and mines definitely seen a few better seasons, so I'd like to replace it, but have no idea where it came from frown
All help gratefully received and reciprocated in beer tokens at either Chatsworth or at the Fest.

Thanks Mark
P.S. it's the one that's got an internal diameter of approx 115mm and an overall length of approx 150mm

Just looked at my air filter....

Looks like a spongy one, under a mesh, attached to AFM by four nuts at front end of filter, looks a bit grim....

Recommend upgrading to K&N? Easy to convert? (I recall from my Rover Vitesses of the past the K&N simply clamped to the AFM with a big jubilee clip, after binning the original Rover air box) but this is different

Presumably I retain these to allow attachment of the K&N?

Definitely...If you have the plate with the four long bolts that hold the air filter on then you need to use this filter..

If not try to get the biggest one you can fit in there...Ziga

Thanks both smile

Do I therefore gather I have to reuse the plates and four rods, or can I get a filter which simply clamps onto the round part of the plate pictured above which has been reattached to the AFM by four small bolts?

Most of them are washable. Wait till the Mrs goes out then wang it in the machine with a bit of washing up liquid on it.. It will come up like new.

To be honest Adam, it'll probably fall apart and block me pipes :/

Think I'll fit a K&N (or similar)

Hi
The one I have fitted to my 350i is the spitting image of the K&N one. It is called an AFT R supplied by AUTOSILICONEHOSES.COM racing, not sure of price as was given to me as a Christmas present. Easy to fit, I just cut some bolts and fitted using what you have shown, there are 4 different sizes of rubber adaptors in the kit which go over the round bit and is clamped with jubilee clip as supplied.
