Where the name Lotus came from

It has apparently been uncovered where the LOTUS name came from. Something that has been under discussion in Lotus owner's circles for a very long time!
The revelation comes about 2mins 35 secs into the film on You Tube about "Colin Chapman Team Lotus 1968" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEFSGcdAAzA).
It also appears that the 'correct' plural for Lotus is Lotuses and not Lotii (Chapman mentioned that he was building more Lotuses).
