Anyone have any idea how I can get some track time at Longcross? The only people with access seems to be an outfit doing super car experiences which is clearly not much help!

Don't think it's possible unless competing in certain Rally events or you're a major manufacturer, I've seen a few cars over there such as the RR Evoque nearlly 2 years ago.

If anyone would know it would be PHer Vixpy http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/profile.asp?mem... as his business Surrey Rolling Road is based on site.

Watching with interest, I could do with some local space to run a new engine in- I'll also be getting it rolling roaded at Surrey Rolling Road at some point.
Seems unlikely that the land owners would permit anyone to run there, Charlie is always getting moaned at by neighboring companies to keep the noise down and keep the running of engines outside his building to a minimum.

Sadly for those local the requirement is for significant PLI, but thereafter so long as you don't want it exclusively its quite affordable. A number of magazines have an account there, but as mentioned they are itchy about noise.

I thought there was still the odd sprint/rally there for the odd event, but it's not really a track day venue IMO. More a useful place to shake down and bed things in or just to get a feel for a car.

Stacey,

When you say PLI do you mean Public Liability Insurance? If so this isn't an issue for me to arrange. Any idea who I can contact to setup an account?

Hi Charlie,

Left my blue roll and Wurth brake cleaner pump sprayer thing at your place last time I was there - an indication of how it went.. wink - hope you kept the latter to one side!
