The Chim is feeling a little "rattly" and lose, made worse by our ste roads.

I am thinking I may treat him to some new bushes etc. I am planing to wander down to Fernies this week.

Any suggestions on what I can do to tighten it up and make it feel more planted?

A suspension refurb with new bushes will certainly help, add to that some new ball joints and leven drop links.

If you have some money to spend on the Chim, how about some new springs and dampers

Bushes are approx £5 each, you'll need 8 on the front and 14 on the rear, a set of front ball joints will set you back about £130, it would be wise to replace all the bolts, a full set for the front and rear will release you of a further £90, if your handy with the spanners, it's not a huge cost and quite satisfying to complete.
The Leven drop links are £50 each, you'll need 4
The problem is, where you stop, once it's in bits, do you change other parts as a precaution.
I've just completed my suspension.

The suspension is the original, there are no leaks, so II had them powder coated along with the wishbones

The wishbones are new, they were £360 including fitted bushes fron TVR Power, I replaced all the ball joints and bolts.
the chassis was covered in waxoyl that I painstakingly removed with thinners (comes of very easily without damaging the powder coating).
The chassis was touched up where the powder oat had lifted (on the wishbone mounting brackets) I used Hammerite smooth white, I thinned the paint down slightly to stop brush marks showing and gave it 3 coats.

It looks really good, I have also done the same to the rear, obviously I don't know the longevity of the finish, only time will tell.

Pics of completed rear:-
