Is it me??? Or are there more people like me who just don't get Facebook/Twitter etc. I'm being continually told "See what you are missing from not being on Face book".Well i don't want to hear that "I've just got out of the bath" and "Just been to the bog" Etc etc.from all and sundry.I know i will now get a few replies extolling the virtues of bliddy Facebook. So feel free to try and convert me. Others have tried,so i doubt you will succeed.I hope i also get some replies from people who think the way i do.
Dave.
PS.Don't take this to heart if you are an avid follower of Twitter and face ache. Its just a bit of fun eh.whistle

Forums (like this one) are pretty much the same though, especially when in the non-car forums or even General Gassing.

It's all just a bunch of strangers chatting on the internet. They probably feel the same way about folk who chat on here about cars hehe

Don't do either - PH is enough!

I think it's these youngsters that make it worse, you can't do a thing without being a face aching ttter.

When my daughter was at Uni they all arranged a trip to Istanbul she was talking (face to face) with the orgnaiser about times and plans etc and he told her it was all on Facebook. She explained she didn't use it so he urged her to join, he genuinely couldn't grasp the idea that he just tell her the details right there and then.

Maybe so.But us car nuts don't come on here saying things like 'Filled the car up with fuel today'. Followed by a question 'Yeah how much'...'Oh bout 50 quid'. replied with 'blimey!' And so on. utter gobbledygook (IMHO)getmecoat

At last, I'm not alone. Morons. Even the news programmes are at it! It's getting a sad world.

Shouldn't this thread be in the 'grumpy old bds' section? tongue out

Love it or hate it, it's a bloody good marketing tool!

Personally I detest the idea of ttter, but the marketing team swear by it and I have someone dedicated to sending mine out for me as I'm clearly incompetent when it comes to that.

Facebook and Twitter account for a huge swathe of our marketing and it's all free! What's not to love about it?

It's also a handy way to keep an eye on the nippers. Well it is when they're stupid enough to befriend their folks rolleyes

I'm in my 30's and have never been on either.

Can't see the appeal.

All the people I wish to converse with have my mobile number.

I have no desire to amass hundreds of 'friends' I will never lay eyes on.

I can see the attraction of Facebook for keeping in touch with Family abroad ( I use Skype for that) . I spend most of my time chasing my daughters on it . Kids today , don't realise putting pictures up of themselves on their Walls ,attract some shady Characters . As an observation though , some Forums have become a little quiet because of this Social phenomena. Check this out, says it all. http://www.lamebook.com/.

Luvverly lick

Anyway - calm down girls. They're just communication channels, the contents of which -and whom to share it with - are entirely up to yourself.

Given how some don't half post loads of cr*p that isn't really meant for general public consumption on here, I fail to see the problem anyway.
