CLK 55 (W209) - Discs and Pad Advice

Taken her out on the track a few months ago - handled it really well, aside from the brakes.
Totally melted a set of pads in a day (and I backed off after the first run as they were smoking) - OEM pads (new) and discs. Currently running EBC red stuff on the front that seem to bite a little better.
Going to do a few track days this year but dont want the same problems and considering upgrading the brake / pads...any recommendations from AMG drivers appreciated.

Options are:
Buy a big brake kit - these are about £3k upwards just for the front.
Look on ebay for above.
Buy a different car.
You have just clarified what I thought would happen with mine. I have been looking at upgrades since I bought it in November but they are mighty expensive.
