Hmmm, unsure of the E90 models. But with the E46, it was marketed for the fleet market with a lower list price, and in doing so lost some of the kit. E.g, no climate, keep fit windows in the back, no cruise, no MF steering wheel, no fog lights etc.

I'd take a guess that the E90 ES model was a lightly spartan SE, but not quite as poverty spec as the E46!
