One for mr tanks collection ?

Evening all. While perusing a certain Internet auction site I came across this http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=2... Nothing special just another wedge project I hear you say, but the thing that caught my eye was the year of manufacture 1989 ! According to Steve heaths bible( not infallible I know) the last 5 280i's were built in 88. So this potentially could be one of the last 5 280s that didnt get sold for a while so got registered later? Now I know there is a possibility the seller has got it wrong/ typo error or there is another reason it's registered so late (re-imported from abroad) but might be worth a follow up. Unfortunately can't make out reg no from photos. Thoughts gentlemen please

Not for me, and its I think a series 1 1/2 or a very early seies 2 280i he has got his reg date incorrect! more like 83!

It looks very much like my 1985 350i. But the rear mirrors both sides were changed. This explain maybe the stickers on the doors hiding the original mounting holes.
