Hi All,
I have been offered a position as Operations Director at a Facilities Management company. Main role will be working with clients and customers for new contracts, working with budgets, audits and improving the business with new clients etc etc.
Just wondering if anyone in FM and how is the work? I currently work for an HR software company as a operations manager so different culture. The job in question comes with long term benefits, salary and fuel card along with car allowance or company car should I wish.
Thanks

I have been in the industry since leaving Uni where I did mechanical engineering firstly on a graduate scheme, then in operational roles in a number of sectors, then working as a consultant and now on the client side in the public sector. Look at BIFM website for further info but in general the industry is expanding and there are a number of large service providers making good money, Interserve, AMEY, Johnson Controls etc At your level I would assume its all about the things you have said and A decent amount of travel depending where in the country you are based. Certainly has given me a good lifestyle and I currently get paid similar if not more than my friends across a number of industries and long may it continue. Happy to answer any specific questions by PM if you wish
Hope that helps
