Does anyone know this car:

It belonged to my grandfather for a good while before going to John Macdonald in Lanchester, Durham for another few years.

These photos were takes just a few years ago at Beamish and i cant believe it does massive mileage, so it might be in the NE still. Thanks to Terry Pinnegar for documenting his photos so well -else google would have turned up nowt !

Its been restored massivly since i was last in it ( around 1978 !) but we have discovered some film and photos of it which may be of interest to its current owner.

Plus - id love to see it again !

It doesn't help much but I bought a 3 litre engine from a Lagonda specialist called 'David' about 3 years ago, he lives in a lovely old rectory in a village near the North Yorkshire moors. When I come across the correspondence I will email you more info, its quite possible he would know the car as he covered the area for servicing for a long time....

Why not contact him at Beamish Morgan, there's a good chance he'd know here it is ?

It looks like John Macdonald had it for sale, it's still advertised on the Beamish Morgan website. I worked for John for a while in the late 80s and the car got a lot of spirited use back then, i was privileged to drive it a couple of times and it took some concentration with the central accelerator. It had a 4 1/2 litre Meadows engine in a reasonably high state of tune, back in the day John would delight in showing some of the local boy racers a clean pair of heals! It'd be worth contacting John as I'm sure he'd like to see some older pictures of the car. He's based at the Aston Workshop now and there's a good chance it'll be in the showroom there, you're not too far away and it's a great place to have a look around anyway. I've seen that car about in the last year or two. Maybe Newby Hall but can't remember now.

I heard this car is now in Germany. My grandfather would be mortified !
