Bit of a good day today!
Discussion
I rent an office for my business at Shoreham Airport but that is the extent of my involvement with aviation.
I'm pally with the other business tenants in the building, most of whom are flying businesses of one kind or another. Anyway, things are a bit slack right now, so over a cuppa, one of the lads told me he had to take an R22 for it's annual check at Redhill & come back in a Eurocopter 120 & did I want to come along for the ride?
I did want! I wanted very much & outbound, flew it for five minutes or so. I say flew, I mean handed it back before Gatwick started to think we were drunk in charge. We routed directly over Gatwick & I got some (phone) shots of a British Airways landing beneath us as we held. All in all, a pretty good day considering I'd expected to spend the day bashing the phones & drinking tea!

I grew up on Shoreham Beach and was always fascinated by the airport.
A friend of my dad's is developing some business units down the other end from you, they've been in a state of "half built" since 2008!
When visiting my folks, we always make a point of visiting the airport cafe for a drink and a wander out on the front of the apron.....always something happening outside.

Sounds like a bloody good day out
Observation though.......
Thats not a BA 737 landing as you flew over Gatwick btw
And we recently printed and installed the large fabric graphic on the wall in Truffles who have just taken over the restaurant in the old terminal building
More of us here have more to do with Shoreham Airport than we would have thought!

The guy who owns the partially built units, used to race Class 1 off-shore powerboats. My brother used to work for him, so we used to benefit from the free hospitality on race weekends!

I used to work in the hangar in the last shot in the early 90's, there is so much more tarmac around than when I was there
